Ormiston Park Academy Celebrates Football – with ‘Football Shirt Monday’ on Monday 12th July

8th July 2021

Dear Parents & Carers,

Re: Ormiston Park Academy Celebrates Football – with ‘Football Shirt Monday’ on Monday 12th July

To celebrate England making the men’s European Football Championships Final this Sunday, OPA invite students to take part in ‘ Football Shirt Monday’ on Monday 12th July.

Hopefully England will win the final game on Sunday, however whether England win or lose students are invited to come into the Academy wearing a football shirt. This will ideally be an England football shirt, however; if students do not own an England football shirt they may wear a football shirt from a different country, football club or local team. Football shirts will be worn in place of a school shirt and tie, the rest of the OPA uniform will still be worn with the football shirt. School skirts/trousers, blazers and school shoes must still be worn. No trainers or football shorts please and Shirts MUST be football shirts, other coloured T shirts will not be accepted.

This is a way of allowing our students to celebrate England making a major football final, something that hasn’t happened for more over 50 years. Our Football Shirt Monday is NOT compulsory for all students. Students should only participate if they would like to.

Let’s hope England win the final and we are all celebrating on Monday!!

Kind Regards,

Lynsey Padmore
