Expectations for Uniform and Essential equipment

School Uniform

Blazer
Navy blazer with Ormiston Park Academy Logo

Skirts (pleated)
All skirts must be charcoal grey and pleated – skirts must be worn no more than three inches above the knee (pencil, tight fitting, Lycra mini-skirts will not be permitted)

Trousers
Tailored, business style, charcoal grey, girls are permitted to wear trousers if they prefer (stretchy, leggings or tight-fitting trousers are not permitted)

Shirts
Plain white, collared and buttoned.

Jumper
Plain grey or with OPA Logo grey – grey school jumpers can be purchased from the uniform section in shops (jumpers are optional).

Socks
Plain white, black or grey (Logo socks are not permitted, eg, Nike, etc.)

Tights
Natural or black (socks must not be worn over tights)

Coats
Dark coloured – plain black or navy, without motif or writing (NO leather, suede and denim jackets or hoodies).

Tie
OPA blue Logo tie (student leaders are awarded gold ties)

Shoes
Plain black school shoes – NO trainers will be permitted in the academy unless in PE. All students must wear plain black school shoes – Kickers are permitted.

Hairstyles
Extreme styles and unnatural colours are not acceptable (blue, pink, etc.) including shaved or patterned styles. Unnatural dye or weaves (eg. gold colour) are not acceptable.

Jewellery
A non-obstrusive watch and one pair of small, plain ear studs may be worn. NO other jewellery including hooped earrings or body piercings is permitted.

False nails
For health and safety reasons, false, gel or acrylic nails are not permitted. Any student wearing nail varnish, other than clear nail varnish, will be asked to remove it using nail varnish remover.

Make-up
False eyelashes are not permitted, and these will need to be removed. Any students wearing make-up that is unatural will be asked to remove it using face wipes.

Hairbands/Ribbons/ Beads
Must be plain black, navy or plain white.

Head Scarfs
Black, navy, grey or white.

Physical Education Kit – should have OPA Logo:

Shorts – Choice of:

  • Navy shorts with red trim
  • Navy slim fit training pants or navy leggins for girls

Top
Navy polo shirt with red trim

Training Top
Navy 1/4 zip training top

Trainers
Suitable trainers of any colour

Additional optional items
Navy football socks with red trim

Essential Equipment List:

Students are expected to bring the following items every day:

  • Suitable school bag – large enough to fit books for all subjects inside
  • Pencil case
  • 2 black pens
  • A green pen
  • A red pen
  • A pencil
  • A rubber
  • A sharpener
  • A ruler
  • A scientific calculator (model to be confirmed by maths department)
  • A refillable water bottle – clear, see through so that water inside is visible
  • A reading book – all students should have a reading book in their school bag
