Welcome

Welcome to Ormiston Park Academy

A very warm welcome to Ormiston Park Academy. We are a highly aspirational popular secondary school serving the community of Aveley and its surrounding areas in Thurrock. Our buildings and grounds offer outstanding facilities for our students and our teaching and support staff go above and beyond on a daily basis. Combine this with students, of whom we are extremely proud, and the resulting mix creates an Academy that is a pleasure to work and learn in. Ormiston Park Academy has been graded ‘good’ in all aspects of our provision (Ofsted 2017).

Ormiston Park Academy provides a safe, secure and supportive, yet academically challenging environment where all students can succeed and excel. We have the highest aspiration and expectations for all our students.

Students are at the centre of everything we do. We expect them to work hard and to achieve their very best academically and we provide them with the skills and attributes relevant for higher and further education and employment in the 21st Century.

Our vision is for students to build a self-belief and confidence that affords them no boundaries, and to couple that with the respect and discipline required to be leaders of the future.

At Ormiston Park Academy we pride ourselves on the superb level of pastoral care and support we provide for all our students and families. This enables the students to progress seamlessly through our school. We are committed to a strong home-academy partnership and actively promote and support parent/carer engagement in our work. We believe the whole community can contribute to ensuring the outstanding progress of our students as they journey through the Academy to University, the workplace and beyond.

Leadership changes with immediate effect…

After a positive few months, we are pleased to confirm that Jodie Hassan will become permanent Executive Principal of Ormiston Park Academy. She will have responsibility for overseeing both Ormiston Park Academy and St Edward’s Church of England Academy in Romford moving forward.

We are also pleased to announce that Munira Said will take up the position of Principal at the school, on a permanent basis and with immediate effect. I am sure you will join us in congratulating both Jodie and Munira on their appointments. We have every confidence that alongside your continued hard and excellent work the academy will go from strength to strength.

As part of these changes, Humayun Rashid will return to his role as Vice Principal. We would like to thank Humayun for leading the academy so well during this interim period – it is greatly appreciated. We know he will continue to make an immense contribution to the direction of our academy in this role.
