Sound Training for Reading (STFR) is an intensive programme for pupils in mainstream classes who are underperforming due to low literacy skills and weak vocabulary knowledge. Impacts on reading comprehension abilities by focussing equally on decoding skills and vocabulary development. Small-Group Work | £1000 | One hour a week on the Lifeboat programme; a series of ten books endorsed by the Dyslexia Association. Rewards and Recognition | £350 | Students securing a level 4 in either Maths or English are rewarded with a cinema voucher. Cinema voucher is to for double value if level 4 is secured in both.
