Schools receive an additional £500 for each pupil in year 7 who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or mathematics at the end of KS2.
Those learners identified as not achieving the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of KS2 will receive targeted intense support to facilitate rapid progress to the expected standard in the identified weaker subject. This will enable that learners are equipped with the skills to be able to access the curriculum equitably with their peers, whilst also assisting in their development of a love of maths and/or English.
