COVID19 Update - Year 8s learning from home Friday 27th November

We are going through some truly unprecedented times at the moment. Despite arguably, having some of the best COVID19 secure measures in place (since the 4th September) of school across the nation; this week in particular, we have felt the pressure that COVID19 has placed across schools nationally and on our own local community. We have had a number of students who have had to self isolate and over the course of this week we have also have had a significant proportion of our teaching staff (15+) needing to self isolate. To counter act staff absence this week we have organized a range of operational changes to maintain learning integrity. However, I do reluctantly need to make further change to maintain the operation across several Year Groups on Friday, until several of my self isolating staff return to work next week. I have taken the difficult decision that Year 8 will learn from home on Friday 27th November and return to school on Monday 30th November. This will enable us to continue to maintain the educational integrity in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 10 on Friday, keeping the higher attending Year Groups in the academy. Year 8 students are directed to complete work via the Oak National

Academy https://classroom.thenational.academy/schedulebyyear/year8 on Friday 27th November.

I thank you for your continued support for the academy.

Yours faithfully
