Please see below a message from the Local Authority.
If your child is currently receiving Home To School Transport Support, and you still require this for the new academic year starting in September, please ensure you review the eligibility criteria on our website and reapply on the link below by the 31/07/21 if you have not already done so.
This does NOT apply if your child was awarded under the SEN criteria or those that are still deemed as dangerous routes for the academic year 2021/22. These will rollover as per previous communications.
There is much work involved in setting up routes and contracts for the new school year. If your application is not received by 31/07/21 your transport may not be in place for when children return to school and it will be your responsibility to ensure your children get to and from school safely, until such time as transport has been arranged if eligible. If you do not reapply it will be assumed that you no longer require support.
Please be reminded that the information above relates to our legal duty to provide transport free of charge to pupils between the ages of 5 to 16 who meet the criteria set by the Department for Education. Please note that we do not have a legal duty to provide transport for mainstream students attending post 16 settings.
